This clip right here?  This is why Obama and Biden are going to win the election.  Because John McCain is mildly insane, and Sarah Palin is trying to use her iffy "family values" credentials to distract us from the fact that, despite wanting to impose those values on every family in America, she couldn't even enforce them in her own¹.  And they won't talk about the things that are really important, instead keeping up a running patter of "P.O.W.! Hockey mom!" in the hopes none of us will notice.  I hate to break it to you, but we're not quite that stupid...

1: I should point out that I feel damn sorry for Bristol Palin; the poor kid got no useful education at all on sex, and now look what's happening to her (I mean, aside from her own mother slut-shaming her in public).  This does not excuse her mother from being an amazing hypocrite, however. If you're going to make some issue a cornerstone of your campaign, you yourself had best be utterly squeaky-clean on that issue--do not attempt to run on your love of dogs if you kick every puppy you see.
